Remove The '&'

This flashing sign logo was re-designed at the whim of the Nevada Contractor's Board who received a complaint from a member who expressed concern that the '&' implied a wider range of maintenance services that surpassed the plumbing maintenance business license.

Did you know that competitors could file a complaint against your business for advertising? With all the meaning tied into the '&' symbol, it was removed for this latest logo update.

In addition to the '&'-symbol being removed, the flashing lights were updated from solid yellow fills ('on') and orange bulbs ('off'), to solid yellow bulbs with outer glows ('on') and yellow outlines with no fill or outer glow ('off') for a realistic, glass-like appearance.

Animated Flashing Sign Logo Web Graphic

Arturo The Plumber - Plumbing & Maintenance Services newest graphic features the client's logo design with animated flashing lights. In the outdoor arena businesses have been known to use strobe lights, which is great if you're attracting your customers primarily in the evening, but since the target audience includes customers at all hours; it was most appropriate to create a logo design that could be used 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This newest design has been used thus far in online advertising; however, it will also soon be featured as the introductory graphic in an upcoming commercial ad for Arturo The Plumber - Plumbing & Maintenance Services.

Arturo The Plumber - Plumbing & Maintenance Services Commercials

This first clip is the first English  version of Arturo The Plumber - Plumbing & Maintenance Service's commercial which was produced to showcase services he provides and also to show how in video production - visual imagery can be used to support the narration in a commercial environment. Stimulating multiple sensory receptors helps your target market remember you. See if there's anything in this commercial that stands out to you and add a comment about it.

The following video (0:30s) was produced (1/29/2010) and played on Spanish broadcast television in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. This  commercial features Spanish translation and a voice-processor (available in Apple's GarageBand 2008 sound-editing software) effect applied after the audio track was recorded. The reason the voice was manipulated was to apply the theory that audiences may be influenced by the sound of a strong and deep fatherly voice more likely than if the commercial were being narrated by my normal, mid-tenor-range voice. The images here are also shown in sequence with the narration.

Arturo The Plumber (Logo, Vinyl Van Wrap & Business Card Design)

This vinyl van wrap was designed for Arturo The Plumber - Plumbing & Maintenance Services in Las Vegas. The logo was custom designed with space efficiency and simplicity in mind. When Arturo is driving across town, his audience needs to be able to receive his message in the shortest amount of time possible. Ideally, customers' eyes will catch the resemblance to the "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign, but will notice the graphic on the van is different, which will cause them to read "Arturo The Plumber", see the phone number and at that point have all the information they need to remember who Arturo is, that he provides plumbing services, and his phone number to contact him. People parked beside the van at red lights will have more time to read the bullet-points to identify specific services offered. As Arturo drives across town with his window rolled up, a graphic of Arturo waving with one hand and holding his pipe wrench in the other hand will greet you with a contagious smile.

Advanced Spine & Rehabilitation - Referral Pad Design

Advanced Spine & Rehabilitation (AS&R) requested a referral pad design; a simplified print communication for legal- and medical-industry professionals to refer their customers and clients for chiropractic and rehabilitative services. This final design was determined to be the most functional for AS&R's needs.

In the commercial marketing and printing industry, it is up to the individuals that make-up the business community to make decisions based on their potential impact to the environment. Conservation efforts may be made in the production of designs and prints. Designs may contain minimal content and select font-types may be chosen to conserve the quantity of ink used. Ink and paper varieties are vast enough to give consumers options. Recycled papers, vegetable-based inks, and innovative reproduction techniques are evolving with consumers' demands, especially in the digital age where sharing information through the Internet and social media is increasing in popularity. That is, until batteries die, grids disrupt, digital phone books accidentally get deleted and technology fails when consumers need it most; like before their next chiropractic treatment appointment! Patients should not have to wait for electricity, computers, or electrical day-planning devices to function in order for them to obtain information to receive receive therapy and pain management treatment.

Composite: 7-String Burl Wood Ibanez Guitar with Silver Hardware

This guitar illustration is the guitar I aspire to possess within the next ten years. The brand of guitar I prefer is Ibanez, because their guitars have the smoothest, most natural feel under my fingers and a quality of craftsmanship that match their value and exceeds that of other brands I've played.
Ibanez guitar company produces 'easy-playing (close/tight action)' preferred by musical artist who might also enjoy and appreciate the craftsmanship that went into building a luxury automobile; who for some, includes a Cadillac with sounds of an Ibanez guitar rocking through an optimized car-audio system. Together, Steve Vai and Ibanez introduced the world to the 7-string guitar's possibilities and in popularizing the electric 7-string guitar into mainstream culture, the new wave of rock evolution was approaching with artists like KoRn at the forefront of the war on 6-string guitars.
The illustration below is of a dream, custom, and playable 7-string Ibanez composed of one solid piece of perfect burlwood with silver hardware. The plain wood look is to pronounce the contribution laid forth by the sacrificial tree this custom guitar came from. If someone ripped a bone out of your body and tried taking credit for the awesome sounds that came out of your bones - you might be insulted and have a justified claim to feeling short-changed. When the Earth gives of itself - recognize it by showing the wood texture through clear-coated varnishes without obscuring the lines with opaque pigment. An environmentally conscious designer brainstorms to set new trends that promote eco-sustainability for the world to follow; therefore, as an artist and musician - use of gold is restricted to use in electronics, Monster (brand) instrument cables and is boycotted for all purposes of vanity including aesthetics.
The next step in guitar evolution is Ibanez' RG-2228 (8-string electric guitar), featuring even lower and heavier tonal range than a 7-string guitar. Dino Cazeres (Guitarist from the band, Fear Factory) plays an RG-2228 really well in this YouTube video and he identifies the most important characteristics for Ibanez brand guitars as quality, preciseness and the (brand being) best. We audience couldn't agree more, Dino.

Advanced Spine & Rehabilitation (Henderson, Nevada)

This trifold brochure was customized for Advanced Spine & Rehabilitation in Henderson, Nevada to help communicate the clients' services to their audience including the advanced technology that sets their chiropractic and rehabilitative services apart from the competition.

One of the most unique qualities of service provided by Advanced Spine & Rehabilitation is their meticulous documentation practices, because each time a patient visits - the doctors record how their patients condition has progressed since their last visit, and a chronological history of every treatment patients receive is monitored so that only beneficial therapies  are continued.

While some chiropractic offices possess x-ray technology that many times lacks the diagnostic capabilities to identify the source of patients' pain (diagnostic information lost in static imagery); the Digital Motion X-ray (DMX) technology is unmatched because recorded video of patients' movement provides visual evidence that may prove beneficial in courtroom settings for victims of car accidents, work-related or other serious injuries. The Multi-Cervical Unit (MCU) by BTE Technologies helps patients work through neck injuries, whiplash injuries, and general cervical spine syndromes. The MedX machine reduces chronic lower back pain through spinal strengthening while simultaneously monitoring patients' progress with each exercise repetition.

In-office photographs were taken of most of the equipment the office has invested in with the exception of the Vax-Decompression machine, which was downloaded with permission from the Vax-D.net website and published at actual size with full 300 ppi (pixels-per-inch) resolution. The individual headshots and group photograph were shot in a studio; however, the graphic artwork was all customized by pSyCho jOe Designs. The doctors' faces are included on each of their business cards to help patients associate and familiarize a face with the name of the person rehabilitating them through their recovery.

Finally, the business card design needed to match the brand identity in color and design; therefore, the designs shown below reflect those needs with the inclusion of function so that appointments can be written on the reverse side of each individual doctor's personalized card. The final print production of this design would feature spot gloss printing on the front and on the back with the exception of the bottom portion of the card where appointment information is expected to be written-in with a pen.
